Your at-home whitening method

If you don't want to take all those rounds to the dentists to get your teeth whitened, then try the at-home whitening method.

At-home bleaching includes the use of trays to hold the bleaching gel in place. Make sure your at-home system includes a barrier gel to prevent the bleaching agent from getting to your gums. The tray is worn for at least one hour while watching TV or reading a book.

For oxidation at home, apply a 9 per cent hydrogen peroxide or 10-20 per cent carbamide peroxide bleach gel to your gums. Carbamide peroxide splits into hydrogen peroxide and urea (hydrogen peroxide being the active whitening ingredient) in the mouth. Small concentrations of hydrogen peroxide work at par with higher concentrations of carbamide peroxide (3.6 percent hydrogen peroxide is equivalent to 10 percent carbamide peroxide).

Most whitening occurs after one or two weeks. In difficult cases, the process can take up to six weeks.

The system is highly effective, or should  I say surprisingly!!
